Who we are Nicholas Reeves BA, MIEM, ACMI
He has a degree in Economics and Social Policy, is a graduate of the Common Purpose Programme, a member of the Institute of Emergency Management and Institute of Directors and an associate member of the Chartered Management Institute and Emergency Planning Society. He is an associate to the Leadership Academy for Policing, the National Centre for Applied Learning Technologies and the Scottish Executive. Nick is also qualified to deliver psychometric tests. Over the last 10 years Nick has been a board director and trustee of a number of public bodies and charities, including the SRB Challenge Fund and the Prince’s Trust, and is currently Vice Chair of Crime Reduction Initiatives, a national charity and leading provider of support, treatment and rehabilitation programmes. In this capacity Nick has considerable experience in the governance of organisations’ strategic development, HR strategy and public accountability, together with the financial management of multi million pound budgets. Nick has published a guidance manual on the elements of critical incident management and has contributed to a publication on risk management. He was also commissioned by the Brighton and Hove Safer Cities Programme to oversee research undertaken by Brighton University into the behaviour of young people. Graham
Buchanan BSc (Hons),
NdipM, PGCE, MCMI
Graham holds two degrees in Business
Studies, a National Diploma in Management and a Post Graduate Certificate of
Education. He is also licensed in the use of a range of psychometric and
personality
instruments. Graham specialises in crisis management
and leadership and strategic change programmes and has
worked for four years at one of the country's premier leadership academies, where
he developed and delivered a wide spectrum of training programmes to a number of
high profile organisations. Using his crisis management skills
and experience Graham has implemented various major incident and counter
terrorist programmes following training by the Ministry of Defence in counter
terrorist search methods. He was the counter terrorist search co-ordinator
at The Derby between 2000 and 2004. He is a member of the Chartered
Management Institute and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of
Personnel and Development and seeking chartered membership. Graham relishes the human experience and interaction with people that produces the joy of learning. Phil
Hardy BSc (Hons), PGCE
As a result of his experiences he became fascinated by the question of why some people are far better at communicating or influencing or learning than others. In 2001 he returned to training
full-time, working first a training manager in the public sector, before going

Master classes for trainers · Accelerated learning In addition he provides consultancy support for organisations wishing to introduce learning programmes that meet organisational and individual development needs within available resources. Phil has an honours degree in
mathematics and computing (taken using accelerated learning techniques in his
own time whilst working across three continents), a Post Graduate Certificate in
Education and is a Master Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner. He has also studied the “Science
of Non-Verbal Communication” under Michael Grinder. He is the co-founder of the Accelerated
Learning for Parents Programme, a social enterprise aimed at equipping
parents and carers (of whatever social and financial circumstances) with the
skills and techniques of accelerated learning so that they can help their
children learn quickly, easily and deeply and so achieve their maximum potential. Annette Saunders
She formed her own training company, Aspire & Succeed Ltd, in 2007. An experienced training consultant and coach in the field of management development, diversity and positive action, she designs and develops tailored training programmes. Annette
has 30 years experience working within the public service sector and has
supported the career and professional development of many people, both through training initiatives and in the operational arena, particularly in
leadership development for women, for which she has a passion. She is a graduate
of the Common Purpose Programme and member of the British Women’s Association
for Policing. Annette
is always professionally and personally committed to supporting people's growth and
their aspiration to succeed in their chosen goals. Alan Wingrove M Ed, BA(Hons), Chartered FCIPD, DMS C.Mgr FCMI
Alan
has experience of working with public and private sector organisations and
has delivered development programmes in the UK, Holland, Spain and Bermuda.
These have included a number of personnel issues, such as leadership, diversity,
competency based interviews and presentation techniques.
He
left the police service in November 2005, after 30 years, having attained the
rank of Chief Superintendent. He joined the Leadership Academy for Policing, at
Bramshill, in February 2002 and led the design and implementation of their
senior leadership development programme and remained as the programme director until April 2004. He was then appointed to the new role of
head of leadership learning and continuous professional development, where he project
managed the implementation of the core leadership and development programme and
led on accrediting all of the Leadership Academy’s programmes to external
qualifications; in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute and
the Institute of Directors. Before
becoming independent and forming his own company, Learning 2 Achieve
Ltd, he
worked on the Home Office project to design and implement the Senior Careers
Advisory Service, a talent management programme for those police staff
identified as having the potential to reach chief officer level within three to
five years. Alan
has had a number of articles published on elements of policing including: the
future of policing; the psychological contract; the role of qualifications
within the police professionalisation agenda; the blame culture within the
organisation and the paradigm change needed for police reform; and whether
centralized policy unduly influences leadership style. He has
written an article for Occupational Psychology Press on the use of
diagnostic instruments in leadership development and also contributed to an
article for the Institute of Directors on training needs analysis requirements

Debra’s passion is to help individuals and teams to change their behaviours so that they can achieve greater success. She is an experienced trainer, a facilitator and a designer of training and development programmes. Debra has 23 years experience working within the public service sector. For the last seven years she has been directly involved in training initiatives to promote career management and professional advancement in her organisation. For the past year she has been attached to the University of Brighton developing, delivering and assessing all elements of a Foundation Certificate. She is a governor of an accelerated learning school with the portfolio for curriculum, premises and healthy school status. Debra has excellent communication skills and is focused on continuing to develop her range through ongoing professional development. Consequently, she can design tailored, current and relevant training products for groups or individuals.
